The Thai International Education Consultants Association (TIECA), represented by Ms. Supatra Boonsong, Vice President, and Mr. Setthaphol Hrutrakul, Honorary President, was invited by Education New Zealand (ENZ), the New Zealand education agency in Thailand, to attend “The Otago Connect Event in Bangkok,” organized by the University of Otago, New Zealand, on August 26, 2026, at the residence of the New Zealand Ambassador to Thailand.

At the event, TIECA had the opportunity to meet and exchange views on education with HE Ms. Raylene Liufalani, Ambassador of New Zealand to Thailand, and Ms. Charuwan Pongcharuwat, Director of Education for Education New Zealand in Thailand, as well as representatives from universities, educational organizations, and educational partners from Thailand and New Zealand.

This participation reflects TIECA’s role in connecting education networks between Thailand and New Zealand, as well as providing an opportunity to exchange information and build collaboration with educational institutions and partner organizations to develop educational opportunities for Thai students, and educators in the future.

2026 marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and New Zealand. Both countries enjoy excellent relations and cooperation in various areas, particularly in education and knowledge exchange.

TIECA is pleased to be a part of this collaborative network and is ready to continue building partnerships with New Zealand organizations and educational institutions to promote educational opportunities and foster a lasting and positive relationship between Thailand and New Zealand.
